# How do I add anchors to my map description?

If your map description is getting too long, you can opt to add anchors that allow you to skip certain sections of the map description. Here's how to do that using [inline HTML](/guides/profiles/markdown.md#inline-html):&#x20;

1. Turn your text headers into HTML. For example, a header called "Map Credits" with style "h1" will look like this:&#x20;

```
<h1 id="map-credits">Map credits</h1>
```

**Note:** You can adjust the header size by using "h1" or "h2" or "h3" etc. in the code.&#x20;

2. Then create the hyperlinked anchor like this:&#x20;

```
<a href="#map-credits">Map credits</a>
```

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.kumu.io/frequently-asked-questions/how-do-i-add-anchors-to-my-map-description.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
